Swing
Parties and Swing Clubs
Swingers and Swinging are terms used to
describe what was originally called 'wife-swapping' but
evolved more into partner swapping. Today, swinging more
accurately describes a way of life or a 'lifestyle' mostly for
couples, but not excluding select singles.
Swingers get together as couples or
groups in either a play party or a social occasion. A play
party is an event where sexual activity WILL take place
between consenting adults. A social occasion may involve
couples, families and children all getting together for a
barbeque, or a day outing. A non-sexual getting-to-know you.
Play parties can happen at a number of
venues and can be organised by a group, a couple or a club
specifically for this purpose. Most clubs prefer couples, and
many clubs and parties will allow single females but either
restrict or ban totally single males. Some clubs require
strict membership criteria to ensure couples are genuine.
At many swing club events, consensual
sex or 'play' may take place behind closed doors. Some places
have an 'open door' policy - where one room is open for those
who wish to use it, and those who wish to observe. Some clubs
have a stage for exhibitionists to perform on, and voyeurs to
watch. On a pre-arranged occasion adults may very well spread
mattresses on the floor, in anticipation of a group play, but
is by group agreement and not generally standard practice.

Professional Couples running Swing
parties and well run clubs will offer a number of important
things:
Some form of education about swing for
beginners. It can never be emphasized enough that a couple has
a firm idea about what their own ground rules are, and a
method of calling it quits if things go beyond their comfort
zone.
Often the club will offer some form of
introduction to the club or hostess before party night. Also,
on the night of the event an established group will usually be
available who make newcomers feel welcome.
