And the Winner is…Personality

A recent survey by B Magazine reports that Personality is the bigger winner, in what women under 30 want in a prospective long-term partner.  Neither ethnic background nor disability was seen as an obstacle in relationships.

Financial status and career ranked low on the list of what women first look for in a man.  Conversation is an important part of any relationship so similar values and intellect are a definite must.  Women also like a man with a sense of humour.  Men don’t need to be cool all the time and a little silliness goes a long way.

Looks and sex appeal were ranked about midway, just ahead of self-confidence.  Age and having children does not seem be a major factor when looking for a partner.

Flirting is okay for both sexes.  As one person was quoted in saying “Just because you’re full doesn’t mean you can’t look at the menu”.

However, when dating men the tables are turned, with attractiveness the main reason for saying “yes” to a date.   Interestingly enough, though, wealth and career still ranked the lowest as a reason for dating someone.
